My Eardrums Are Vibrating: An Introduction to Human Hearing

By

This lesson was created as an introduction to how human ears pick up sound. This lesson is content heavy and requires strong classroom management skills to ensure that students stay on task. The explanation of how vibration travels into the ear and is translated into electronic pulses that our brains can understand is an essential part of this lesson and therefore follow up questions and asking for student confirmation of learning is important. A great resource that can be used to help explain the ear is from the amplifon website. This allows students to see a visual representation of the translation of vibration to electronic signals. This was my last lesson for my one-visit-per-week pre-internship.
