Rocks, Fossils and More! (Jeopardy Game)

By

This lesson revolves around helping students understand how paleontologists and geologists decide how old a fossil is. This is a complex topic and so relative fossil dating and absolute fossil dating were topics in this lesson that are broken down and compared so students can understand them. This lesson also introduces the geological time scale. The content heavy set is complimented with a interactive modified jeopardy game. This game was used as a way to have to students practice the new information that they just learnt about fossil dating and the geological time scale as well as have them recall information from earlier on in my mini unit. This was the fourth lesson in my mini unit on rocks and minerals.
